Logistic buyer (M/F/X) Spain
As an employee within the PGS team, you will be working in a fast-growing company
with a family atmosphere but still within an international environment.
What tasks will you perform?
Logistics management
- Coordinate and optimize logistics across multiple sites in Spain and France (e.g., Burriana, Bilbao, Salles).
- Manage transport of raw materials (wood) and distribution of finished products nationally (Spain) and internationally (notably France).
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships: negotiate conditions, rates, and contracts.
- Actively prospect for new carriers to improve efficiency and strengthen the supplier base.
- Optimize transport routes, reduce empty runs, and enhance cost-effectiveness.
- Guarantee compliance with delivery deadlines and monitor logistics KPIs.
- Manage and resolve customer complaints related to transport.
- Verify and validate transport invoices and perform related administrative tasks (e.g., creation of supplier files).
- Prepare regular follow-up reports for Belgian management (results, incidents, prospects, improvement areas).
Supplier management & procurement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with logistics providers.
- Negotiate rates, conditions, and contracts with transport partners.
- Actively prospect and qualify new carriers to improve efficiency and reduce dependency on single providers.
- Prepare requests for quotation, analyze offers, and support contract implementation.
Optimization & efficiency
- Optimize transport routes, reduce empty runs, and improve cost-effectiveness.
- Review and structure collaborations with logistics service providers in clear contractual frameworks (volumes, KPIs, penalties, pricing conditions).
- Support sales teams with competitive offers by providing optimized transport tariffs.
Who are we looking for?
- Degree in supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years in logistics procurement, transport management, or a similar role.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of logistics flows and cost optimization.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, procurement, sales, and production.
- Good organizational and reporting skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between sites.
- Languages: Spanish, English, French. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
